Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Basecamp Garage website (basecampgarage.co) or purchasing any products or services from Basecamp Garage LLC, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use our website or purchase our products.
Products & Services
Basecamp Garage LLC sells aluminum UTE trays, canopies, overland accessories, and the Roam Assistant smart-control platform (Control Hub, PoE wall displays, and related hardware and software) for midsize and full-size trucks, truck campers, trailers, and RVs. We also offer custom fabrication, installation, and consultation services. Product availability, pricing, and specifications are subject to change without notice.
Product Disclaimers
All products sold by Basecamp Garage LLC, including but not limited to UTE trays, canopies, and accessories, are provided "as is" for their intended use. Basecamp Garage LLC is not liable for any claims, damages, injuries, losses, or expenses arising from the use, installation, or modification of our products. The buyer assumes all risk associated with the use of products purchased from Basecamp Garage LLC.
It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure that products are properly installed, maintained, and used in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Basecamp Garage LLC makes no warranties regarding the suitability of its products for any specific application beyond their intended use.
Warranty
Basecamp Garage LLC offers a one (1) year warranty on manufacturer defects for trays, canopies, accessories, and other products, beginning from the date of delivery. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
Roam Assistant hardware — the Control Hub and PoE wall displays — carries an extended two (2) year warranty against manufacturer defects in materials and workmanship, from the date of delivery. Replacement or repair is at our discretion. Accessories, third-party sensors, cabling, and consumables are covered under their respective manufacturer warranties and are not covered by Basecamp Garage LLC.
These warranties do not cover:
- Damage resulting from misuse, abuse, or neglect
- Damage caused by improper installation by the buyer or a third party
- Damage caused by power surges, lightning, water ingress beyond rated protection, or vehicle electrical faults
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage resulting from modifications, alterations, or unauthorized repairs, including unsupported firmware or software changes
- Cosmetic damage including scratches, dents, or fading
- Issues arising from third-party integrations, Home Assistant core or community add-ons, or other open-source software dependencies
To submit a warranty claim, contact us at sales@basecampgarage.co with your order details, a description of the defect, and photos. Warranty claims are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are subject to approval by Basecamp Garage LLC. The warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.
Roam Assistant Platform — Specific Terms
Roam Assistant is a smart-control platform built on Home Assistant and other open-source software. By purchasing or using Roam Assistant hardware, software, installation, or consulting services, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Automation responsibility: You are solely responsible for the automations, schedules, rules, scenes, and integrations configured on your system, including any modifications made after delivery. Basecamp Garage LLC is not liable for outcomes arising from automation logic, including but not limited to battery drain, equipment damage, missed alerts, temperature excursions, or any effect on persons, pets, or property.
- Life-safety disclaimer: Roam Assistant is not a life-safety system. It is not certified for use as a medical device, fire alarm, smoke detector, carbon monoxide alarm, security alarm, or any safety-critical application. Do not rely on Roam Assistant as the sole means of monitoring pets, children, or any situation where failure could result in injury, loss of life, or significant property damage. Always maintain independent, code-compliant safety systems appropriate to your vehicle and use case.
- Third-party devices & services: Roam Assistant integrates with third-party devices (e.g. Victron, Shelly, Reolink, Starlink, Truma, Webasto, PetSafe, and others) and services. Basecamp Garage LLC makes no warranty regarding the continued availability, functionality, or security of any third-party product, API, cloud service, or protocol. Third-party devices are covered by their own manufacturer warranties.
- Connectivity & remote access: Remote access features depend on cellular, Wi-Fi, or satellite connectivity, which may be unavailable, intermittent, or delayed in remote areas. Basecamp Garage LLC is not liable for missed alerts, control failures, or data loss resulting from network outages, service interruptions, or third-party provider issues.
- Software updates & open source: The platform is built on Home Assistant and other open-source software governed by their respective licenses. We may issue or recommend software updates, but are not obligated to provide ongoing updates, bug fixes, or feature additions indefinitely. User-initiated updates, third-party add-ons, or changes to the underlying operating system may affect system behavior and are the user's responsibility.
- DIY kits & consulting: When Roam Assistant is sold as a DIY kit or via consulting, the buyer is responsible for final installation, wiring, device configuration, commissioning, and any modifications to the vehicle's electrical system. Basecamp Garage LLC is not liable for installation errors, improper wiring, blown fuses, electrical fires, or damage to the vehicle or its components caused by DIY installation. We strongly recommend that all 12V/24V, 120V, and high-current work be performed by or under the supervision of a qualified installer.
- Data & telemetry: Roam Assistant runs locally on your Control Hub. Telemetry, logs, camera footage, and automation history are stored on the hub unless you explicitly enable remote or cloud-based integrations. You are responsible for securing remote access credentials and for any data shared with third-party services you choose to enable.
- Assumption of risk: Off-road, overland, and vehicle-based use exposes equipment to vibration, temperature extremes, moisture, dust, and impact that can exceed normal residential conditions. By installing and using Roam Assistant in these environments, the buyer assumes all associated risk.
Returns & Refunds
Shop accessories (LED lights and other non-tray/canopy products) are eligible for a refund within 15 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in their original packaging, and in resalable condition. The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs.
UTE trays and canopies are not eligible for returns or refunds due to their custom and large-format nature. All tray and canopy sales are final.
Roam Assistant installations and consulting services are non-refundable once installation, commissioning, or consulting work has begun. Unused, unopened Roam Assistant hardware (Control Hub and wall displays) may be returned within 15 days of delivery in original packaging; once hardware has been powered on, commissioned, or physically installed, all sales are final.
To initiate a return, contact us at sales@basecampgarage.co within the 15-day window with your order details. Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days of receiving the returned item.
Pricing & Payments
All prices are listed in US dollars (USD). Online payments for shop accessories are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store credit card information on our servers. Prices are subject to change without notice. Tray and canopy pricing is provided via inquiry and may vary based on configuration and options.
Shipping
Shop accessories are shipped to addresses within the United States. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout. Delivery times may vary. Basecamp Garage LLC is not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers. Risk of loss transfers to the buyer upon delivery to the carrier.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Basecamp Garage LLC, its owners, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or use, arising out of or related to the use of our products or services, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory.
In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount paid by you for the product or service giving rise to the claim.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Maricopa County, Arizona.
Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our website or products after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
